Too Busy Too Busy Too Busy

I realized this morning as I was getting ready that I have become too busy for my own good. The tricky balance is that I am filling my time up with good things. I get to see and celebrate with great friends and do fun things however, I have only had time and energy to kiss my husband good night and brush my teeth. YIKES!!!!

Balance anyone? I will try again tomorrow :)

Firefighters are Amazing!!!

I am so proud of my husband and the fact that he is a firefighter! These brave men and women risk their lives daily to ensure our safety and well being.

He has just started his fire season and I pray he is safe and we both have the courage to get through it.

Thank you to all the firefighters out there serving our cities, counties, states and nation!!

One Year Anniversary

My Husband is so amazing! We have been on a budget, like everyone else, so we were trying to brainstorm ways to make our one year anniversary special. He grilled us some amazing kabobs and bought me some beautiful pink tulips. It was hard for us to not do something extravagant because we love going out and going above and beyond for each other, but a simple dinner at home was so romantic and I have never felt more loved.

Experiencing Pregnancy

I am in my 5 month of pregnancy and I am still amazed everyday by how my body is changing. I wake up at 3:30am every morning starving. I eat something and try and go back to bed, however our little Braydon decides it is now play time and I just feel him squirming around enjoying the meal. Half asleep and cranky it dawns on me that I have to pee. Of course I do, because if I am not eating I am peeing. So I get up, careful to avoid our two maltese, cat and husband sleeping on the bed with me. I come back wishing I could fall asleep- my husband is snoring away why can't I?

I snuggle into the fourth sleeping position of the night hoping that this one will be comfortable and I won't wake up with back pain. I settle in and 30 minutes later my alarm goes off. It is time to start my day! How is a girl suppose to function under these conditions? I can't wait to be a mother but all this pre workup is making me nervous. If I am this dysfunctional when he is still in me what is going to happen when he comes out?

Take a deep breath, ready for another day.

New Baby

It has been a long time since I made and entry but I have been a little preoccupied; I found out I am pregnant! I am due August 25th. This first trimester has been rough, I have "morning sickness" every morning when I wake up and as I am going to bed like clock work. Yuck! I have recently discovered ginger tea and ginger snaps-they are miracle foods! Also last night my husband splurged on bedding so I could sleep better. We got a feather bed, two new pillows and body pillow. Our bed is amazing!

My Etsy store is getting a face lift

So I have been inspired. I am using my holiday break to create, create, create!!! I am finding fun organic yarn, soft cashmere yarn and luxurious silk yarn and making some delicious creations. I am also making some fun and funky items out of less expensive acrylic and blended yarn to keep the price down on some of my items. No more plan jane crochet for me. NO!! I want buttons, I want ribbons and I want flowers!!

Wind, Chill and Crafts

Well, my friend Shanna and I braved the weather last saturday to participate in a Craft Fair at La Habra High School. Needless to say, if you saw the forecast, it was a miserable day to be selling at an outside craft fair. I think this picture sums up our experience. I am starting to really re-think these craft fairs.

First Craft Fair

Well I have completed my first craft fair and it was a great experience. I sold a couple of items that more than paid for my registration fee and I handed out a ton of business cards-- all in all I would consider it a success. I have another craft fair this Saturday at La Habra High school. I can't wait! Christian is going to help me out and my friend Shanna will be there. I am making some cute new scarves with Bamboo, Cashmere, Mohair and Appalachian blend yarn. They are sooo soft! I am starting to branch out into hats as well; haven't mastered them yet :)

well, I am off to crochet. I will post pictures from the fair last weekend as soon as I can find my camera.

Too much to do

I love this time of year but I feel like my head is totally spinning. My husband and I are moving into a new apartment this week, I have to finish 300 bracelets for craft fair in San Diego and I have a to restock my children's items for a craft fair at a pre school this saturday not to mention I have work from 8-5pm. I know this season is suppose to be filled with peace and joy but right now I feel full of stress and frustration. After thursday I will be able to get into the holiday spirit and I am looking forward to it!

Christian and I are picking up our tree on Saturday after the craft fair. I can't wait! Ok I'm already getting into the spirit :)

First Craft Fair

So I am putting together some cute crocheted bracelets for a goodie bag for the Stockings and Stilettos craft fair in San Diego. I unfortunately can't go but I wanted to start doing some intentional advertising.

The bracelets are turning out really cute. They are a simple crocheted band with a vintage button to secure the ends. I hope they are a hit.

I am also trying to figure out how to set up my display for a craft fair in December at La Habra High school. I am glad I have my husband coming to help and my friend Shanna will be there too. It should be great, and if it isn't it is just my first try :)

Journey to Creativity

So I have been brainstorming new ideas for crochet projects. I am experimenting with jewelry so stay tuned ....

Today it is so windy, but a dry, hot wind-Santa Ana's. It makes it difficult to get inspired to create warm, snuggly scarves when I wish the air conditioning was turned up higher :) Ahhh, the trials of an artist. JK.

Currently I am working on a personal project for my friend Whitney. I am finishing up a baby blanket for her new baby boy. She is due within weeks! I am so excited. However unless the weather cools off soon he will not need his new present. :)

Well this is my first attempt at blogging so be gracious :). I have opened a new Etsy shop that I am very excited about! I am making fun crochet creations.

My husband is a Firefighter and is gone for days or weeks at a time so I took up crocheting again as a hobby and I decided to share my creativity with others.
